2020 Fitzroy River Barra Bash Wraps Up

The 2020 Fitzroy River Barra Bash, Australia’s riches Barramundi fishing tournament, delivered a sensational event despite the challenging conditions with Covid.

180 anglers from around the state hit the water 8th and 9th October to earn their share of the $20,000 guaranteed cash and prizes on offer at the Rockhampton event.

Over 240 Barramundi and Threadfin Salmon hit the deck over the two day fishing competition, with the largest Barramundi coming in at 98cm and the largest Threadfin Salmon coming in at 134cm.

Despite the challenging conditions, long time supporters and sponsors of the event, Team Edge Rods took out 1st Place for Most Metres of Barramundi putting a whopping 1039cm of Barramundi on the leader board. Followed closely by Beer n Bundy Boys at 949cm in 2nd and Team Renegade in 3rd with 921cm.

Individual Biggest Barramundi went to Benny Durkin from Barra Freaks, landing a 98cm Barramundi while Cameron Wellsteed took out Individual Biggest Threadfin with a massive 134cm catch!
