Frenchville Sports Club Continues Support for Red Shield Appeal with $10,000 Donation

6th May 2026

Frenchville Sports Club proudly donated $10,000 to the Red Shield Appeal at the Appeal’s annual Breakfast, held at the Club this morning. A valued partnership that has spanned more than 20 years, the donation reflects Frenchville’s ongoing commitment to supporting people in need across the local community.

Each year, the Red Shield Appeal raises vital funds to assist local families and individuals experiencing hardship, providing essential support services including emergency relief, financial assistance, food and clothing support, employment services, and mental health programs.

Frenchville Sports Club Chairman, Graeme Brady OAM, said the Club was proud to once again support the Salvation Army and the important work they do throughout the region.

“We’re incredibly proud to continue supporting the Salvation Army and the Red Shield Appeal. This donation is about helping local people through difficult times and ensuring important services remain available for those who need them most.”

“In addition to the Club’s donation, it was great to have Rugby League legend, Kerry Boustead donate his time to speak at the breakfast to raise further funds for the Salvation Army.” Mr Brady said.

CEO Damien Massingham said community support remained at the heart of everything Frenchville Sports Club stands for.

“Supporting initiatives like the Red Shield Appeal is an important part of who we are as a Club. We’re honoured to contribute again this year and help make a positive difference in the lives of local individuals and families doing it tough,” Mr Massingham said.

Funds raised through this year’s appeal will go directly towards local welfare programs, helping provide much-needed financial and emotional support to people across Central Queensland.

Frenchville Sports Club encourages local businesses and community members to get behind this important initiative. Donations can be made online at www.salvationarmy.org.au/rsaroc, or over the phone by quoting RSAROC on 13 72 58.

Together, we can continue to support those in need and strengthen our local community.
