Frenchville Sports Club is proud to support Meals on Wheels through the Community Partnerships Program, helping to ensure this vital service continues to provide nutritious meals and social connection to those who need it most.
Rockhampton Meals on Wheels provides essential meal services to individuals of all ages, including the elderly, those with disabilities, carers, and people recovering from surgery or illness. The service delivers nutritious, home-cooked meals to help clients maintain their well-being and live independently in their homes.
Meals on Wheels is dedicated to promoting independence across Queensland by not only delivering meals but also offering social connection and vital support services. Their mission is to enhance the health, safety, and quality of life for individuals, strengthening communities in the process.
Meals are delivered across North Rockhampton, South Rockhampton, and Gracemere, with meals tailored to various dietary needs, including vegetarian, gluten-free, cut-up, and vitamised options. Each day, 380 clients benefit from the service, which also includes wellness checks and valuable social interaction.
Volunteers are key to the service, helping in both the kitchen and during meal deliveries. 14 drivers are needed each day to deliver meals, typically between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., using their own cars. These volunteers foster a sense of community, providing support and companionship to clients.
Through our Community Partnerships Program, Frenchville Sports Club proudly funds fuel vouchers to help cover the costs for these dedicated volunteers, ensuring they aren’t out of pocket while making a difference.
Meals on Wheels is always looking for new volunteers to join their team. By delivering meals and building connections, volunteers make a positive impact on the community and feel more connected and valued. They invite you to become part of this rewarding service and help brighten lives.
