Frenchville Sports Club is proud to announce its remarkable fundraising efforts in support of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) through a series of dedicated initiatives, raising a collective total of $4,735 to aid over 5,500 Queenslanders living with the condition.
Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic neurological disease that affects young adults. It results from the immune system mistakenly attacking the myelin around nerves, leading to a range of symptoms. Currently, there is no cure, and the exact cause is unknown.
In a concentrated effort to support this vital cause, Frenchville Sports Club contributed $2,500 through its Community Partnerships Program and an additional $1,000 from the Meals for MS campaign, which ran from May 20th to 26th. During this campaign, 1% of food and beverage sales were donated to MS research. Additionally, staff and sportspeople from the Club participated in The MS Super Splash event on May 25th, where they swam an impressive 700 laps of 25 meters, raising $1,235.
Through the Community Partnerships Program, the Club provides crucial financial assistance to deserving causes in the region. Frenchville Sports Club has committed just over $150,000 through this program to support community-focused projects, events, and initiatives that contribute positively to the Central Queensland region, including the MS Super Splash.
Graeme Brady OAM, Chairman of Frenchville Sports Club, expressed his admiration for the Club's commitment to supporting such a worthy cause. "The exceptional fundraising efforts, combined with our Community Partnerships Program and the Meals for MS campaign, underscore our dedication to making a positive impact in our community," said Brady.
"The fundraising efforts highlight our commitment to supporting those in need within our community. We are honoured to contribute to the important work of providing services and conducting research for those affected by MS," added Brady.
Frenchville Sports Club extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the fundraising efforts and contributed to making a difference in the lives of those living with MS. Their collective efforts continue to build a strong, supportive community.
