Frenchville Sports Club Spreads Holiday Cheer with Salvation Army Gift Tree

Wednesday 12th November 2025

Frenchville Sports Club has launched its annual Salvation Army Gift Giving Tree initiative, supporting local families in need this Christmas. Community members are invited to donate unwrapped gifts that will be distributed to those facing challenges during the festive season.

Graeme Brady OAM, Chairman of Frenchville Sports Club, expressed pride in continuing this meaningful partnership with the Salvation Army.

“Christmas is a time to show compassion, and it’s heartwarming to see our members and the broader community come together to make a real impact. Every gift placed under the tree represents kindness and brings joy to those who need it most.”

Major Paul Morrice from the Salvation Army Rockhampton said this year’s appeal comes at a crucial time for many local families.

“Christmas is one of the busiest times of year for The Salvos, and this year we expect the need in the community to be immense,” Major Morrice said.

“For many, celebrating Christmas might seem out of reach due to the rising cost of living, with some on the brink of homelessness and others fighting to pay the bills.”

“The Salvation Army wants to be there to support those in need this Christmas and give people the Christmas they deserve. Whether it’s through a small act of kindness, a donated gift, or reaching out to someone who feels down or lonely, we want people to know they’re not alone.”

The Gift Giving Tree symbolizes compassion, unity, and the true spirit of Christmas.

Community members are encouraged to drop off their unwrapped gifts at Frenchville Sports Club before 7th December 2025 to ensure they are included in the Salvation Army’s distribution efforts.

By participating in this initiative, the community can help spread holiday cheer and ensure that local families feel supported during the festive season.
