Friday 31st October 2025

Frenchville Sports Club has celebrated the completion of its $25 million, multi-stage redevelopment, marking the beginning of a new era for one of Central Queensland’s most respected community clubs.

The milestone was officially commemorated with the Premier of Queensland, The Honourable David Crisafulli unveiling a plaque to mark the Club’s reopening and the culmination of a two-year transformation that has reshaped the venue from the ground up.

“The opening of the Frenchville Sports Club is a proud moment for Rockhampton, and a proud moment for regional Queensland. “The Premier said.

“Sporting clubs are where regional communities thrive - where people matter, where sport shines and where those who need a helping hand will always be welcomed.”

“By backing projects like this, we are setting up regional Queensland to capitalise on the opportunities of 2032 and build a stronger future for generations to come.”

Chairman Graeme Brady OAM said the occasion represents a defining chapter in the Club’s 77-year story.

“When we first began this journey, we set out to create something truly special. A modern, welcoming destination for our community to connect, celebrate and belong,” Mr Brady said.

“Today, we stand proudly in a venue that reflects not just years of hard work, but decades of commitment to the people of Rockhampton. This project is a testament to what can be achieved when community, vision and determination come together.”

The ambitious redevelopment delivered in partnership with Ashley Cooper Constructions and BSPN Architecture has been completed over four major stages since early 2024. It has transformed every aspect of the Club, introducing new spaces including Embers Bistro, Luxe Lounge, Aroma’s Café, The Atrium, Dusk Lounge, a new Sports Bar, the Kids Clubhouse, and now, the Function Centre, a modern, flexible venue designed to host everything from community gatherings to major corporate events.

With a membership base of more than 39,000, Frenchville Sports Club has cemented its position as a leading hospitality and entertainment destination in Central Queensland.

CEO Damien Massingham said the completion of the renovations is both a proud moment and a promise for the future.

“This project has been about more than construction, it’s been about reinvestment in our people, our region, and our community,” Mr Massingham said.

“We’ve created spaces that bring people together, from families enjoying dinner to major corporate events that drive local tourism and opportunity. The Premier’s presence to reopen the Club reflects what this Club means to Central Queensland.”

Mr Massingham also paid tribute to the Club’s staff, members, Board, and partners, acknowledging their unwavering support throughout the extensive works.

“This milestone belongs to everyone who has been part of the journey, our team, our members, and the community that has stood by us every step of the way,” he said.

The completion of the renovations marks a new chapter for Frenchville Sports Club. A story of vision, resilience, and community spirit that will continue to shape the Club’s future for generations to come.
